The Boardman Tree Farm is located in Marrow, Oregon, and is operated by a tree farm management group called Greenwood Resources. On this tree farm of 25.000 acres, there are thousands of hybrid poplar trees, known as the Pacific Albus. They all are almost the same size and take approximately 10 years to mature. GreenWood Resources use a very limited amount of chemical pesticides. When it comes to watering the trees, the irrigation process is controlled by a computer, and each tree gets the same, precise amount of water. These hybrid poplar trees are later used for the production of paper and lumber products.

The tree is native to tropical and subtropical regions in America and South Africa and was imported from Argentina in the 19th century. Nowadays, there are more than 50.000 Jacaranda trees in South Africa, and that’s because the trees are planted in parks, streets, public or home gardens. This is the reason why also Pretoria is called Jacaranda City. The best time to witness the beauty of hundreds of jacaranda trees planted in a row is to visit in spring when it’s their blossoming time. Besides South Africa and America, trees are common in Australia as well.

One of the most famous tree tunnels globally, the Dark Hedges in County Atrim, Northern Ireland, is really something worth seeing. During the day, it’s a magical, green place where the sun is shining through the trees, but at night this place becomes a mystical, haunted look-alike path from some fairy tale gone bad story. The rich Stuart Family planted these beech trees in the 18th century because they wanted a fascinating path leading to their Gracehill House. Over the years, the beech trees got intertwined, creating an amazing arched tree tunnel. There is also a legend that says that the Grey Lady’s ghost is haunting the road at dusk!

If you want to enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossom in the German city, Bonn, know that this will be available only in spring, approximately some two weeks in April. Visiting Bonn for this reason only will be a trip worth having because when you get there, you will love to see the whole city as well. 5. Tree Tunnel, Brasil
The street of Rua Gonçalo de Carvalho in Porto Alegre, Brazil, is the type of street that will make you feel as if you are in some urban jungle. Walking down by foot, car, or bike past the green and large Tipuana trees will be an experience you won’t forget. The trees were planted 70 years ago, and since then, they grew into big and beautiful trees, creating a small forest in a city. But, things weren’t always this “green.” In 2005 there was a plan on building a parking garage near the street, and some of the trees should have been cut down. But, locals gathered and prevented this from happening, keeping Rua Gonçalo de Carvalho’s street as one of the greenest, prettiest streets in the world.

The train going to the nearby factory is passing here three times a day for few years and thanks to that, as well to the nature left to grow freely, the train made the path bypassing the railway each day. One of the things you should definitely visit is the tree tunnel made by Laburnum Arch.
