In a constant search of ways to make an everyday living at least a little bit easier, we come across many innovative, creative, and crazy ideas that might work. Using old products in different new ways is becoming a new world trend, so we decided to let you in on some of the weirdest yet practical ways of benefiting from the drink you all have in your fridge-Coke!
Originally intended as a patent medicine when it was invented in the late 19th century, Coca-Cola was bought out by a company whose marketing tactics led Coke to its dominance of the world soft-drink market in the 21st century. And today, people have discovered ways of using it as a lot more than just a drink!
Doing Laundry with Coke!
Coke is great for removing stains from clothing and fabric, especially grease and bloodstains. It is also used to reduce bad smells such as fish. Just add a little to your laundry, and you’re good to go!
Say hello to your new house helper. Having trouble cleaning tile grout? Pour on some Coca-Cola, let it soak for a few minutes, and house off. You can remove oil stains in your garage in a similar way.
Got a dirty pool? Add two two-liter bottles of Coke to clear up the water (it acts as a rust remover). And if that isn’t enough, it is great at removing rust, especially from chrome on the bumpers of motorcycles and cars, and cleaning stains from the toilet bowl too.
Coke Is a Remedy?
Although it contains many harmful sugars and fats, Coke has been shown to help with congestion, nausea, and even hiccups, among many other health-harming chemicals.
A New Way of Cooking
Experiment with cooking with Coke. Baste a ham roast with it as it cooks. The sugars will caramelize, and the ham will be moist. Coke’s sugars can also make a great BBQ sauce when mixed with ketchup and brush over ribs or chicken. Try to make your unique Coke recipes. It goes with almost anything!
Did gum stick in your hair? Dip it into a small bowl of Coke and leave it for a few minutes. The gum will wipe off on its own. Coke can also remove or fade dye from hair and even curl it up!
Age documents and photos by applying Coke, patting them with paper, and leaving them to dry. It can be a great gift or even a unique house decoration.
Mix a spoonful of Coke with regular lotion and apply liberally. It gives the skin a soft and silky look and can give you a deeper tan too.
Coke Cleans Car Batteries
Weird but true! It can be used for cleaning car batteries. Coke distributors have been using this technique for decades.
A Bug-free Picnic
Annoyed by all the bugs flying around your picnic food? Pour a little Coke in a cup and set it out an hour before the picnic, away from your site. It will attract wasps and bees so they won’t be bugging you.
A Substitute for Pesticides
Farmers in India have developed a technique where they use Coca-Cola instead of pesticides due to the drink’s high sugar content, which makes it efficient in fighting pests. It’s relatively cheaper, and the results are surprisingly good. The company denies this, but you can try it out and see for yourself!
