What is bacne? It’s back acne. And they can be a sting in the eye. It is a common occurring among young people especially when puberty is in it’s peak. But many adults face this problem too and there is nothing to be shy about, it is just your body telling you that something is wrong and that you need a change.  Scientist still don’t know the exact reason why they show up there, some say it’s overactive sebaceous glands, others speculate it’s extra dirt. But in any case they are treatable with time. There are lot’s of home treatments for mild acne but if your bacne is severe and no home treatment helps in the healing then you should pay a visit to the dermatologist.

1. Exfoliate Back

Your back is a place hard to reach and we often times forget to clean it properly. By exfoliating you will remove all the oils and unnecessary skin. Exfoliate using sponge or a loofah, but remember not to scrub too hard because it can irritate the skin.

2. Sunbathing

The salty water and the sun will dry out the pimples on your back. When we are exposed to the sun we produce more vitamin D which is great for our skin. Don’t expose yourself on the sun for more then 20 minutes because the sunburns are not a pleasant thing plus they can irritate the acne.

3. Zinc

Zinc is the enemy to the acne. You can apply zinc directly on the skin or take zinc orally. It drys the pimples out if you apply it directly on the acne and if you take zinc orally( do not take more than 50 mg daily) it boost your immune system.

4. Natural Exfoliating Scrub

Exfoliating scrubs are a great way to get rid of excess dead cells on your back. You will need: one grapefruit, 1 1/2 cups of white sugar and 1/2 cup of coarse sea salt. Mix the ingredients and gently scrub your back while taking a shower and rinse with lukewarm water.

5. Change Your Shower Head

Water filters will clear out the chlorine from the water and your skin will be thankful. Chlorine may be the cause of your bacne. A shower head is not an expensive investment and it can do wonders to your skin. You will notice the scratching from the chlorine will go away and so will your bacne.

6. Lower Your Skin’s PH

Mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar with half a cup of filtered drinking water and after you take a shower and before going to bed spray this mixture on your back. This will naturally lower your skin’s PH. Some celebrities like Scarlet Johansson claim that this is the reason for their perfectly glowing and healthy skin.

7. Apply Salicylic Acid

Find a gel/ lotion with 2% salicylic acid and apply it to your skin. Apply the acid directly on the affected area and if it’s a gel wait for couple of minutes for the acid to do it’s work and rinse off with lukewarm water. Salicylic acid is known for it’s anti acne properties, try it.

8. Apply Sunscreen At Night

Nicole Wisner, a blogger from New York ditched expensive acne treatments and bought a SPF 45 sunscreen. She applied the cream every night before going to bed and her acne disappeared over time. The sunscreen contained 6.8% zinc oxide white petroleum base.

9. Try Out Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is a substance known for it’s acne healing properties. Look for a cream/ gel with  2 .5%, 5% or 10% benzoyl peroxide and using a cotton ball apply it to your back at least twice a day. If you consider applying benzoyl peroxide then you should know that it commonly causes dryness and irritation, although the skin develops tolerance after a week.

10. Lemon Juice

Lemon is one of the most concentrated sources of food vitamin C. Vitamin C is great for the well being of your skin. The lemon citric acid is a powerful astringent which helps to remove dead skin. Squeeze a lemon and using a cotton ball apply it on your skin. Be patient, it may take up to 2 weeks for the results to show.
