The fort at the time was built to protect this area, as most of them were, from potential invasions as most were in fact for the very same reason. All of this mixed in with the south of France sunshine makes this a must-see venue. The castle became a town museum in 1946 and two years later, was classed as a classified historical monument. Today, it holds many classical music concerts, infamous artwork, and temporary art exhibitions.

The Templars themselves were standing strong for over two hundred years and constituted the most powerful Christian military at the time.     I rode 30,000 miles across Europe. I’ve been to Neuschwanstein. I got a room on Mt St Michel at a lodge called Mouton Blanche, which is over 1000 years old (new bed, tho)

  3. Love them all! Would love to see inside them all, looking on the outside is intriguing to want to know more about these castles, some of them look impossible to get to. Love to visit
